As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility, Atthowe Fine Art Services is proud to support the Arbor Day Foundation’s tree planting efforts equal to the volume of wood we use each year. You’ll now see this pledge stenciled on every custom-built crate leaving our warehouse: This Crate Plants Trees. It’s a stencil that reminds us of our promise to honor the resources we use and to help regenerate the ecosystems we impact.
This initiative was brought to life by our Greening Committee, a team of staff members working to embed sustainable practices throughout our operations. As a worker-owned cooperative, this kind of staff-led effort reflects our commitment to anchor our governance in deeply held values.
It’s a commitment that continues a tradition started by our founder, Scott Atthowe, who championed sustainability from the beginning. Under his leadership, Atthowe installed solar panels on two of our Oakland warehouses, becoming one of the city’s early adopters of renewable energy. Today, we carry that legacy forward.
